Procedure: Ethnic Rhinoplasty
Before: 22 year old male, Indian ethnicity, who doesn’t like the lack of definition to his nose, wide nostrils, and bump (hump) on the bridge of his nose. His goals were to create a more refined and defined nose while at the same time maintaining his Indian heritage. He also had restricted breathing due to a deviated septum. After: 1 year after closed Rhinoplasty with hump reduction. His nasal tip was refined by increasing his nasal projection and definition via cartilage grafting. The cartilage was used from his septum, which was straightened. In addition his flared nostrils were reduced via an alar base reduction by making a small incision along the nostril rim and removing excess skin. Note that his goals of increasing his nasal definition was accomplished and his Indian ethnic appearance maintained. Photos Courtesy of Ran Y. Rubinstein, MD
